Hi there! I’m annelise (Annie) Jolley.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m a San Diego-based journalist, essayist, and editor who writes about food, travel, faith, and the terrain between. To read a selection of my published work, head over this way.

If you know me, you know I'm enthusiastic about most things, but especially shared meals, great books, and exploring our complex, gorgeous world. Other details: I hold an MFA in creative nonfiction writing from Seattle Pacific University. I write feature stories for a variety of publications and occasionally moonlight as an editor and copywriter. My essay “Trick of the Light” was named a notable title in The Best American Travel Writing 2019.

In addition to my freelance work, I’m the editorial director at Nations Media, a platform for stories that transform the world.

Questions, collaboration ideas, or just want to say hi? I’d love to hear from you—really. I’m available for developmental/copy editing, feature writing, and content creation projects. Email me to set up a phone call or better yet, let’s chat over coffee or beer.
